Senior Captive Claims Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Supervise and manage designated claims

• Facilitate communication, documentation, and comprehension among insured parties, adjusters, and other stakeholders

• Maintain a diary for assigned claims

• Utilize Applied EPIC to assess claim status

• Cultivate relationships with clients to enhance claims management

• Assist in resolving disputed claims when necessary

• Ensure prompt follow-up on inquiries

• Communicate with designated adjusters to advance claims towards resolution

• Educate insured individuals on state-specific regulations and mitigation initiatives

• Prepare and deliver claim-tracking information

• Identify trends or gaps in coverage and communicate them to the Account Management team

• Engage in claims reviews with producers, clients, and service department staff

• Provide educational resources on the claims process to agency and client personnel

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements and workflow enhancements and suggest modifications

• Review insurance company documents for accuracy

• Stay updated on state-specific workers’ compensation regulations

• Research and support mitigation programs for workers’ compensation claims when applicable

• Mentor less experienced Advocates by offering guidance, training, and technical support

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred

• A minimum of 5 years in an insurance role with relevant claims coverage experience

• Understanding of Property & Casualty forms and pertinent coverages for accurate claims reporting and analysis

• Experience in handling worker’s compensation claims is required (when applicable)

• Active Property and Casualty license is required; the company will assist the candidate in obtaining licensure if necessary

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Experience with Applied Epic is preferred, or familiarity with a similar Account Management System (AMS) is acceptable

• Capability to lift 25 pounds

• Frequent use of vision to read documents and computer screens

• Regular use of hearing and speech to communicate via telephone and in person

• Repetitive hand movements, including keyboarding, writing, and using a 10-key

• Ability to walk, bend, sit, reach, and stretch in all directions
