Senior CAD/BIM Drafter – Modeler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain comprehensive civil engineering drawings (CAD) and 3D models utilizing Bentley Systems, OpenRoads, and OpenBuildings, alongside Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

• Generate coordinated BIM deliverables derived from design drawings, survey data, as-built documentation, and various project inputs.

• Create surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading models, pipe networks, sections, and construction documentation.

• Construct existing-condition models based on LiDAR scans and registered point clouds.

• Convert 2D engineering drawings into aligned 3D models while preserving design intent.

• Integrate survey data, point clouds, and subsurface utility information into models following SUE practices and applicable standards.

• Revise models and drawings throughout the project lifecycle and uphold version control.

• Enhance and refine templates, standards, object libraries, and repeatable modeling processes.

• Facilitate model exchanges and address data-quality challenges with multidisciplinary contributors.

• Independently manage assigned tasks and deliver high-caliber work within project timelines.

• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project teams to convert design information, survey data, and existing-condition data into client-ready outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of practical experience with Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, and BIM modeling, ideally on infrastructure projects.

• Significant experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with OpenBuildings Designer (OBD) or Revit is considered a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to produce precise 2D drawings and coordinated 3D BIM models from engineering, survey, and existing-condition data.

• Solid grasp of civil engineering drawings, survey data, coordinate systems, spatial data, and model configuration.

• Experience in delivering BIM/CAD tasks within ProjectWise environments, including structured workflows and client standards.

• Knowledge of BIM standards and delivery criteria, such as ISO 19650, BEPs, and client specifications.

• Experience with infrastructure projects, including roads, railways, drainage, utilities, land development, or major structures.

• Strong QA/QC skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with engineers, multidisciplinary project teams, and clients, possessing good technical English skills.

• Experience in integrating survey data, point clouds, LiDAR, laser scans, or GIS data into CAD/BIM models is advantageous.

• Familiarity with scan-to-BIM / point-cloud-to-CAD processes.

• Practical experience with OpenBuildings Designer (OBD) and 3D MEP modeling.

• Proficiency in ReCap, Revit, InfraWorks, Navisworks, or comparable tools.

• Experience in developing CAD/BIM standards, templates, automation, or production workflows.
