Senior CAD Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive mechanical designs that include tolerance stacks, coordinate CTE/structural analysis, and assembly procedures.

• Design CAD and software workflows to convert parametric NX CAD models into formats that can be utilized by engineering teams and control systems within analysis algorithms.

• Develop software automation tools that allow users to interact with NX data using Python.

• Create software tools that integrate NX model parameters, coordinate systems, and geometry into existing scientific software tools.

• Utilize software tools and the NXOpen API to facilitate coordinate transformations and provide quick access to a single source of truth.

• Implement ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.

• Design software tools that ensure CAD designs and documentation adhere to both industry and internal CAD standards.

• Engage as a member of the CAD Team in a matrix organization, reporting to a CAD Team Leader/Manager.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists and engineers to support functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field.

• Over 10 years of industry experience.

• Proficient in engineering release workflows and PLM tools.

• At least five years of experience as a design engineer for mechanical, electro-mechanical, or thermal-mechanical systems.

• Demonstrated ability to extract key data using software automation for NX and TC.

• Experienced in GD&T according to ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.

• More than 10 years of experience applying Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

• Self-motivated with the capability to employ problem-solving methods.

• Familiarity with programming in Python, utilizing NXOpen API, Linux, Git, and Computational Geometry.

• Must be able to perform tasks such as typing and sitting for prolonged periods.

• Commitment to safety in environments with industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.

• Willingness to occasionally travel or work nights/weekends/on-call as required.
