Applications Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Zambia.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to mining clients and regional Sales teams.

• Facilitate product performance assessments, field tests, and warranty-related technical evaluations.

• Aid in product design, customization, reverse engineering, and enhancements.

• Create robust CAD models, drawings, analysis/simulation inputs, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure products are designed, manufactured, and delivered according to customer specifications.

• Assist with product trials, testing, validation, and gathering customer feedback.

• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and Bradken’s engineering benchmarks.

• Provide support for Mining product lines, primarily Excavator Buckets, Ground Engaging Tools, and Crawler Systems, along with broader assistance for electric rope shovels and hydraulic excavators.

• Gather customer requirements, offer engineering insights, support field evaluations, and disseminate technical information throughout the organization.

• Collaborate closely with customers, Sales, Product Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

• Travel frequently to customer locations, approximately 50–75% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Experience in design, reliability, application engineering, or a comparable technical role.

• Background in mining, construction equipment, fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or similar industrial settings.

• Experience in product design, product development, or project delivery.

• Proficient in 3D CAD and FEA software.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and regionally.

• Experience with Siemens NX, ANSYS, Siemens Teamcenter PLM, or 3D scanning is highly valued.

• Understanding of surface mining equipment, mine site requirements, and MSHA or relevant regional mine hazard training is preferred.

• Open to Zambian citizens and individuals holding valid Zambian Permanent Residence permits only.

• Must complete a psychometric assessment and pre-employment medical examination, which includes drug and alcohol testing, before starting employment.
