Senior Business Systems Engineer – GUS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Configure system solutions based on specified business needs.

• Work in partnership with product owners and business users to enhance user stories.

• Develop, execute, and validate test cases for configuration and functional updates.

• Record functional specifications and user instructions.

• Resolve issues related to configuration, master data, and user mistakes.

• Uphold security, compliance, and audit regulations.

• Recognize configuration and process-flow inefficiencies and enhance system effectiveness and delivery metrics.

• Engage in release planning and guarantee the timely delivery of stories.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications and assist with daily system performance.

• Lead solution design and cross-functional configuration activities.

• Design and implement intricate configuration solutions across integrated SAP processes.

• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and promote alignment between business and IT.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and identify sustainable solutions or design improvements.

• Act as a subject matter expert for specific functional areas or business processes.

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and interface partners to provide comprehensive solutions.

• Aid in test planning and execution, defect triage, and ensure test coverage.

• Standardize practices for configuration and documentation.

• Assess emerging technologies, tools, or processes and advocate for their valuable integration.

• Mentor colleagues and junior-level professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree in Business or Information Systems is advantageous.

• At least 5 years of SAP experience with progressive responsibilities in analysis, configuration, and testing.

• Expertise in 1–2 SAP modules; practical experience in designing and implementing integrated SAP solutions.

• Preference for SAP GTS, WM, Stockroom Management, and/or EWM.

• Strong skills in analytical thinking, root cause analysis, stakeholder communication, backlog refinement, and end-to-end process mapping.

• SAP module training (e.g., SAP SD, MM, S/4HANA) is desirable.

• Agile Product Ownership or Scrum Master certifications are a plus.

• Familiarity with Generative AI and understanding of Machine Learning concepts.
