Senior Business Intelligence Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Gather requirements and develop specifications for business intelligence solutions

• Design, build, and deploy intricate reporting and BI solutions

• Create data visualizations, ETL systems, ad hoc queries, reports, data extracts, and master data management solutions

• Collaborate with functional teams to facilitate the delivery of BI solutions

• Proactively recognize needs and challenges, develop strategies, and implement both technical and procedural solutions

• Lead substantial, intricate, or specialized BI projects

• Act as a subject matter expert for advanced BI solutions

• Mentor and train BI developers and stakeholders

• Analyze business challenges and suggest best practices

• Conduct BI requirements analysis, design, and implementation

• Work closely with the Business Intelligence Analyst to establish requirements and secure end-user approval

• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing alongside the Analytics Tester and development team

• Deliver final BI solutions and ensure end-user satisfaction

• Adhere to change-control procedures and produce technical documentation

• Monitor the health and performance of supported systems and identify potential service issues

• Engage in professional development activities

• Establish and implement security standards for BI development

• Safeguard confidential healthcare information and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and relevant state regulations

• Carry out additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related business field is required

• 5–7 years of development experience with a degree related to the computer industry

• 5–7 years of development experience in a healthcare or insurance-related setting with any bachelor’s degree

• Degrees outside of those mentioned may be accepted if accompanied by significant related work experience

• Extensive development, architecture, and configuration expertise in Microsoft SQL Server

• In-depth experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft T-SQL, including complex queries and stored procedures

• High-level proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

• Demonstrated experience in developing BI solutions, encompassing reports, ETL, data visualizations, and data extracts

• Experience in gathering business and technical requirements and documenting specifications

• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell

• High proficiency in Office365, Microsoft Office desktop applications, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Skype

• Required experience with a source code control system; Git experience is preferred

• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is a plus

• Experience in an agile development environment is preferred

• Strong knowledge and experience in BI solution development

• Capacity to meet development commitments and manage expectations

• Ability to assess end-user requirements and propose process enhancements

• Understanding of business processes and ability to interact with internal customers and peers
