Business Intelligence Developer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Create and manage Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models for both internal use and client-facing applications.

• Develop DAX and Power Query that are maintainable and optimized for both performance and user experience.

• Adhere to and document Power BI development protocols, including workspace organization, refresh management, and performance best practices.

• Leverage AI tools as the primary starting point for report and model creation, ensuring output is validated against source data and business objectives.

• Execute production reporting processes, which encompass data updates, monitoring Azure Data Factory pipelines and Databricks notebooks, validating results, and delivering reports promptly.

• Develop and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines, modifying them as upstream data sources evolve.

• Oversee source control and pull requests using Azure DevOps, preparing changes to pipelines for deployment in production.

• Design, maintain, and enhance SQL tables, views, and datasets by applying BI best practices.

• Ensure accuracy in reports and data, troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions.

• Document processes, runbooks, and definitions of data.

• Complete moderately complex reporting and pipeline projects with general guidance and established priorities.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum activities, including sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and peer reviews.

• Collaborate with Product and Account Management teams to translate reporting requirements into BI deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in business intelligence or data engineering.

• Proficient, hands-on experience with Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, along with workspace and refresh management.

• Experience in building and maintaining Azure Data Factory pipelines.

• Familiarity with Databricks, particularly in running and managing notebooks, as well as utilizing Repos.

• Strong SQL skills in relational databases, including expertise in query optimization.

• Understanding of BI data modeling principles, such as dimensional modeling and star schema design.

• Preferred experience with healthcare data, particularly in post-acute or long-term care, as well as CMS public datasets.

• Preferred familiarity with R or Python in the context of data pipelines or analytics.

• Preferred exposure to predictive modeling or machine learning workflows.

• Required software knowledge: Power BI (Desktop and Service), Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SQL (SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar), Azure DevOps or equivalent Git-based source control.

• R and Python experience is a plus.
