Senior Business Development Director – Nuclear Fuel Cycle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Recognize, assess, and secure new business opportunities.

• Build relationships with prospective customers and partners.

• Educate customers and partners about products and services that meet their business requirements.

• Contribute to the strategic planning for Commercial Nuclear Services in the United States.

• Support the Chief Growth Officer in formulating growth strategies for assigned markets.

• Spearhead business development initiatives for the commercial nuclear sector, focusing on nuclear fuel cycle projects.

• Discover opportunities through customer interactions and industry connections.

• Cultivate business relationships by presenting compelling value propositions.

• Establish and sustain professional networks and customer connections.

• Coordinate organizational resources to pursue and secure new projects.

• Create capture plans that address opportunities, preferred strategies, competitive assessments, and business fundamentals.

• Identify potential teaming partners, develop collaboration agreements, and secure internal approvals.

• Collect market segment and customer intelligence.

• Engage in strategic planning alongside the leadership team.

• Manage proposal content and oversee proposal-related activities.

• Acquire necessary proposal approvals prior to submission.

• Submit proposals to customers and respond to their inquiries and concerns.

• Comprehend customer contracts and business planning processes.

• Collaborate with Contracts, Legal, and Procurement teams to address contract terms and conditions.

• Work with technical experts and Operations staff to create customer solutions.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required in engineering or a related scientific field.

• At least 15 years of experience in the commercial nuclear sector.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in roles related to nuclear fuel cycle facilities.

• Significant experience engaging with executive-level professionals.

• Familiarity and experience with the commercial nuclear purchasing process.

• Experience in an on-site fuel cycle plant or a customer-facing vendor role is preferred.

• Background in the nuclear fuel cycle, including conversion, enrichment, deconversion, and fuel manufacturing, is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in business development is preferred.

• A robust network of relationships within the nuclear fuel cycle industry.

• Understanding of commercial Nuclear Fuel Cycle Operations.

• Awareness of current commercial nuclear challenges and business drivers.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal abilities.

• Effective problem-solving skills.

• Advanced presentation capabilities.

• Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.
