This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
β’ Perform due diligence on mining assets and companies by integrating geological, technical, and commercial evaluations.
β’ Develop and manage financial models, including DCF, NAV, comparative transaction, and comparative company analyses.
β’ Evaluate mineral resource and reserve statements, adhering to JORC, NI 43-101, or equivalent standards, while assessing commercial implications.
β’ Assess the economic aspects of mining projects, such as capex/opex profiles, production schedules, commodity price assumptions, and associated risks.
β’ Create investment memoranda, pitch books, valuation summaries, and presentations for board meetings.
β’ Keep track of commodity markets, trends in the mining sector, M&A activities, and the competitive landscape.
β’ Facilitate deal execution by collaborating with technical consultants, legal teams, and counterparties.
β’ Evaluate geopolitical, permitting, environmental, and ESG risks that influence mining investments.
β’ Structure and assess alternative financing options, including metal prepays, royalties, streaming agreements, offtake and marketing arrangements, as well as debt/equity hybrids.
β’ Analyze how financing structures impact project economics and counterparty risk.
β’ A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Earth Sciences.
β’ Over 5 years of relevant experience in mining, investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, or technical/financial advisory within the resource sector.
β’ Experience with M&A transactions, project finance, or asset valuation in mining is highly preferred.
β’ A formal business education or training is advantageous (MBA, finance/business degree, CFA progress, or equivalent practical experience).
β’ Proven understanding of mineral resource classification codes (JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC, or similar).
β’ Proficient knowledge of structured financing instruments used in the mining sector, including prepays, royalties, streams, and offtake agreements.
β’ Strong skills in financial modeling and valuation.
β’ Capability to convert technical geological data into commercial and financial insights.
β’ Advanced skills in Excel.
β’ Familiarity with mining technical software (e.g., resource and mine-planning tools) is a plus.
β’ Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
β’ Capacity to manage multiple workstreams while working under deadline pressure.
β’ Attention to detail and sound commercial judgment.
β’ Additional languages and willingness to travel to project sites are preferred and advantageous.
