This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Lead the integration and validation of external credit bureau, banking, open finance, tax, and financial data sources.
• Take ownership of the cleanup of customer data consents and connections to ensure reliable and compliant data access.
• Replace manual credit and portfolio processes with well-documented SQL/Python workflows.
• Define data quality checks and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Develop and enhance underwriting criteria and credit limit strategies.
• Design strategies for customer management, including credit line increases, decreases, and reinstatements.
• Identify high-risk customers and establish loss-mitigation processes.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to ensure alignment between growth strategies and credit policy.
• Define portfolio KPIs and create dashboards to track portfolio health and strategy performance.
• Build early-warning signals and monitoring routines for accounts showing signs of deterioration.
• Provide insights for Collections regarding segmentation and prioritization.
• Contribute to loss forecasting and risk-adjusted return analysis in collaboration with Finance.
• Apply statistical methods to pinpoint risk drivers and inform strategic decisions.
• Develop, validate, and monitor credit risk models.
• Assist in defining rules and data requirements for automated credit decisioning alongside Product and Engineering teams.
• Translate model results into actionable recommendations for credit leadership and business partners.
• Utilize AI tools in analysis, verify outputs against source data, and enhance AI workflows.
• Collaborate with data science, engineering, product, collections, and sales teams.
• 3–7 years of analytics experience in credit risk, with hands-on involvement in commercial or SMB credit related to cards, payments, lending, or a comparable industry.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including the ability to query large, complex datasets and ensure data quality.
• Proficient in Python for analysis and statistical modeling, including regression, segmentation, and clustering techniques.
• Direct experience working with external or alternative data sources such as bureau, banking, open finance, or tax data.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini in analytical tasks.
• Proven track record of converting analysis into implemented credit policy or strategy changes that yield measurable outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Ability to work with significant overlap with Latin American business hours.
• Knowledge of Latin American credit data and open finance ecosystems is preferred.
• Experience in implementing, validating, or monitoring risk and scoring models in collaboration with data science teams is preferred.
• Experience supporting collections strategy or early-warning programs is preferred.
• Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, Metabase, or Claude Visualization Tools is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.
• Experience in a high-growth startup or fintech environment is preferred.
