Business Analyst, Finance & Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Act as a liaison between Finance and Technology by converting business strategies into system-supported solutions.

• Collaborate with Finance leaders to grasp objectives and translate them into business and functional requirements.

• Oversee the complete requirements lifecycle, which includes stakeholder interviews, workshops, documentation, and validation.

• Create and maintain business requirements documents, process flows, and functional specifications.

• Ensure that Finance requirements align with enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, BRIM, ARIBA, RAR, billing systems, and analytics platforms.

• Identify process deficiencies and suggest automation, system enhancements, and workflow improvements.

• Convert requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs in Jira or similar tools.

• Engage in sprint planning, backlog grooming, testing cycles, and release readiness activities.

• Assist development and testing teams by clarifying requirements, validating solutions, and helping with defect triage and resolution.

• Act as the main Finance contact for technology initiatives.

• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to stakeholders in Finance and IT.

• Develop test scenarios and lead or assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Validate outcomes post-deployment, including adoption, performance, and business results.

• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and cross-functional leaders to enhance financial operations, billing accuracy, reporting, and customer lifecycle operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

• 5–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar role within a technology-driven business setting.

• 5–10 years of experience in supporting financial systems, billing platforms, or enterprise technology implementations.

• Proven experience in leading business requirements, functional specifications, testing cycles, and release readiness across various systems.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Advanced skills in stakeholder management and communication.

• Proficient in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, QTest, Smartsheet, or similar project and testing platforms.

• Excellent documentation, organizational, and process design skills.

• Ability to foster continuous improvement and constructively challenge existing processes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Preferred: experience with SAP S/4HANA, BRIM, RAR, ARIBA, billing platforms, revenue, or cash applications.

• Preferred: experience with data analytics, reporting, and customer lifecycle systems such as Looker, Power BI, and SQL.

• Preferred: background in telecommunications, subscription-based, or high-volume billing environments.

• Preferred: PMP, ScrumMaster, or equivalent project management or Agile certification.

• Ability to attend virtual and in-person meetings and coordinate work across multiple time zones.

• Occasional travel may be necessary depending on project requirements.
