This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Take ownership of and oversee the intake, prioritization, and execution of payroll and cross-functional initiatives.
• Evaluate payroll processes, systems, audit results, ticket trends, and operational data to pinpoint risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to define requirements, set priorities, and design solutions.
• Manage the complete requirements lifecycle across systems and workflows.
• Develop and maintain business requirements, SOPs, process maps, workflows, control documentation, KPIs, dashboards, and reports.
• Conduct advanced data analysis and convert payroll and system data into actionable insights.
• Examine data trends, anomalies, and root causes to promote process enhancement and risk reduction.
• Propel dashboards, KPIs, and data storytelling to enhance performance and compliance visibility.
• Spearhead automation and optimization initiatives using tools such as Excel models and Power Automate.
• Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and external partners.
• Oversee dependencies, timelines, and risks associated with multiple initiatives.
• Support system changes, UAT, deployment, adoption, training, job aids, communications, and audits.
• Ensure that deliverables adhere to regulatory requirements and SOX internal controls.
• Lead payroll transformation initiatives and strategic projects.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and a trusted advisor.
• Advise analysts and stakeholders on best practices and solution implementation.
• Provide backup support for select payroll processing and Payroll Tax Analyst duties.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned while adhering to company policies and standards.
• High School Diploma is required.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in payroll, business analysis, operational analytics, or a similar role, demonstrating ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives is required.
• 4–6 years of experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-wide processes involving compliance, audits, and multi-system integrations is preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in high volume and multi-state payroll environments is preferred.
• Proven track record in leading process improvement initiatives, identifying risks and control weaknesses, and implementing scalable, standardized solutions is preferred.
• Capability to manage and influence cross-functional stakeholders across Payroll, HR, Finance, Benefits, and IT.
• Ability to act as a functional lead and trusted advisor on enterprise-wide initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex payroll concepts clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
• Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality and security of sensitive payroll and employee information.
• Advanced analytical skills for addressing complex payroll, system, and operational challenges, delivering practical, compliant, and scalable solutions.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
