Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Comprehend real-world mission/business goals along with software development methodologies and technologies.

• Gather, assess, and manage both functional and non-functional system requirements as well as user stories.

• Break down Features into stories for a product backlog to facilitate iterative development cycles.

• Collaborate with the ScrumMaster to set up Sprint backlogs, address impediments, and guide scope direction.

• Lead and facilitate the refinement of the backlog.

• Work alongside Product Owners to prioritize the backlog and ensure alignment of requirements with business objectives and roadmap goals.

• Define and sustain the content of the team and iteration backlog.

• Document user stories and Acceptance Criteria, identify dependencies, and ensure traceability.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Functional SMEs to confirm requirements and align scope with anticipated outcomes.

• Convey business needs to development teams through user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Establish and validate acceptance criteria for Test Driven Development.

• Elaborate on forthcoming work items to ensure readiness for future iterations.

• Lead stakeholder demonstrations and report on the outcomes of software iterations.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• A DoD Secret clearance is required.

• Ability to successfully complete a background investigation, including checks for felony convictions over the past three years, illegal drug use over the past year, and misconduct such as theft or fraud within the past year.

• A college degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• At least five (5+) years of experience as a business analyst on iterative software development projects.

• Familiarity with SAFe or Agile methodologies is preferred.

• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.

• Candidates must reside within driving distance of Scott Air Force Base.

• Preferred qualifications include: Certified SAFe Product Owner.

• Preferred qualifications include: Certified SAFe Practitioner.

• Preferred qualifications include: Background in SAP or software development.

• Preferred qualifications include: Certified Business Analysis Professional.

• Preferred qualifications include: Agile or Scrum Master Certification.

• Preferred qualifications include: Knowledge and experience with BABOK.

• Preferred qualifications include: Experience with ServiceNow or Jira.

• Ability to work independently to identify and resolve issues.
