This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Lead the integration and validation of external data sources, including credit bureaus, banking and open finance data, as well as tax and financial data.
• Take ownership of the cleanup of customer data consents and connections to ensure external data can be reliably pulled and refreshed in accordance with local regulations.
• Replace manual credit and portfolio processes with consistent, documented SQL/Python workflows.
• Establish data quality checks and maintain relevant documentation.
• Develop and enhance underwriting criteria and strategies for credit limits.
• Design strategies for customer management, including adjustments to credit lines such as increases, decreases, and reinstatements.
• Identify high-risk customers and create loss-mitigation processes.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to align growth strategies with credit policies.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the portfolio and create dashboards to monitor portfolio health and strategy effectiveness.
• Construct early-warning signals and establish monitoring routines.
• Provide Collections with insights for segmentation and prioritization.
• Contribute to loss forecasting and risk-adjusted return analysis in partnership with Finance.
• Apply statistical techniques such as logistic regression, segmentation, and clustering.
• Develop, validate, and oversee credit risk models.
• Assist in defining rules and data requirements for automated credit decision-making in collaboration with Product and Engineering.
• Translate model outcomes into actionable recommendations for credit leadership and business partners.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance analysis, validate outputs against source data, and improve AI workflows.
• Collaborate with data science, engineering, product, collections, and sales; this is an individual contributor role without current people-management responsibilities.
• 3–7 years of analytics experience in credit risk, with practical involvement in commercial or SMB credit within cards, payments, lending, or a related sector.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including the ability to query large, complex datasets and ensure data quality.
• Working knowledge of Python for analysis and statistical modeling, encompassing regression, segmentation, and clustering.
• Experience with external or alternative data sources such as bureaus, banking, open finance, or tax data, ideally involving integration or data cleaning.
• Familiarity with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini in analytical contexts.
• Proven ability to transform analysis into implemented credit policies or strategic changes with measurable outcomes.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Capability to work with significant overlap with Latin American business hours.
• Ability to operate independently and assume ownership of tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Latin American credit data landscape and open finance ecosystems is preferred.
• Experience in implementing, validating, or monitoring risk and scoring models is preferred.
• Background in supporting collections strategy or early-warning programs is preferred.
• Familiarity with visualization tools like Tableau, Metabase, or Claude Visualization Tools is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.
• Experience in a high-growth startup or fintech environment is preferred.
