Senior Business Analyst

📋 Description

• Enhance awareness of requirements across various teams and utilize delivery and operational data to pinpoint process inefficiencies.

• Serve as the main point of contact for business analysis, ensuring alignment of technical business processes across different teams.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders to comprehend client needs, convert them into actionable requirements, and maintain transparent delivery process documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

• Lead the gathering and analysis of business requirements from stakeholders, converting them into detailed functional specifications and user stories.

• Organize requirements workshops with stakeholders to build consensus on project scope.

• Produce thorough documentation, including business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user manuals to support the development team.

• Establish clear acceptance criteria and assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and release readiness.

• Identify issues, mitigate risks, and evaluate the benefits of existing and proposed solutions, outlining their business impacts.

• Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure solutions are in line with business requirements, providing insights and recommendations as needed.

• Discover opportunities for process enhancements, efficiency improvements, and innovative solutions to optimize business operations.

• Recognize how AI and automation can enhance internal and client processes, assessing the business case, risks, and change impact.

• Utilize AI tools to expedite analysis tasks, such as synthesizing workshop outputs, drafting user stories and acceptance criteria, and generating test scenarios, while taking full responsibility for the accuracy of the final output.

• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to elevating business analysis standards within delivery teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in business analysis, analytics, or systems development, ideally in a technology-driven or agile setting.

• Proven track record in documenting business processes, creating detailed reports, and maintaining accurate, actionable records of requirements and workflows.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex data and translating insights into actionable business recommendations.

• Established capacity to build trust with stakeholders at all levels, including senior business and technical leaders, and to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

• Demonstrated confidence in making data-driven decisions, including the ability to visualize, interpret, and present data insights to non-technical audiences.

• A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and identifying opportunities to enhance business processes.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar) used for managing product development and tracking requirements.

• Practical experience using generative AI tools in professional analysis tasks, with a clear understanding of their limitations.

• Capacity to manage competing priorities and adapt swiftly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Experience in the London Market, Lloyd's, or the broader insurance sector (desirable).

• Working knowledge of SQL or similar data-querying tools (desirable).

• Familiarity with process modeling notations, such as BPMN or UML (desirable).

• Possession of a recognized business analysis qualification, such as IIBA (CBAP or CCBA) or BCS (desirable).
