Senior Bookkeeper – AU Clients

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the quality, accuracy, completeness, and timely execution of bookkeeping tasks for a portfolio of clients.

• Oversee accounts payable, transaction coding, reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end closing, BAS/IAS/TPAR, and the management of the fixed-asset register.

• Address complex or ambiguous issues that AI agents are unable to resolve confidently.

• Document errors, corrections, and alterations to enable AI agents to enhance their performance over time.

• Recognize recurring issues across clients and communicate them to the Manager and product team.

• Test enhancements to products and assist in establishing quality benchmarks.

• Optimize settings in Xero and other applications as well as workflows for client information.

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients' everyday bookkeeping inquiries.

• Clarify accounting concepts to business owners and finance leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of practical Australian bookkeeping experience.

• Proficiency in multi-currency, inventory/COGS, and intricate reconciliations.

• In-depth understanding of BAS, IAS, TPAR, GST treatment, FBT data capture, and month-end closing procedures.

• Advanced skills in Xero (Xero Advisor certified or equivalent qualifications).

• Strong proficiency in Dext.

• Familiarity with Shopify, Deputy, payment gateways, and PSP/EFT integrations.

• Eagerness to learn and collaborate with AI agents as part of the team.

• Competence to review AI agent outputs and provide constructive feedback.

• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in online, platform-based discussions.

• Capability to explain accounting principles to business owners without a finance background.

• Confidence in making decisions regarding ambiguous accounting issues and articulating the rationale.

• Personal accountability for each client file.

• Good judgment regarding when to escalate issues or seek a second opinion.

• Strong dedication to maintaining quality standards.
