Senior Bilingual Reimbursement Specialist – Rare Diseases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Serve as the Team Lead and primary point of contact for all Reimbursement Specialists within the rare diseases program.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the offerings within the rare disease program, including pathophysiology, therapeutic areas, disease processes, mechanisms of action, and related SOPs.

• Engage in daily communication with the Program Manager or Associate Program Manager concerning both new and ongoing projects.

• Assess, develop, maintain, and execute reimbursement processes and protocols.

• Implement, monitor, and evaluate the department's key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Collaborate with insurance companies, physician offices, and healthcare professionals to optimize reimbursement solutions.

• Prepare and submit necessary documentation and data to insurance providers and public or federal funding programs.

• Navigate complex advocacy processes to secure prescription drug coverage and reimbursement.

• Apply financial means testing to enhance patients' access to prescription drug coverage.

• Coordinate pharmacy processes once funding is secured.

• Oversee the management of schedules and shifts for closing managers.

• Provide training for sales teams related to product reimbursement.

• Report any adverse events to the appropriate departments.

• Undertake additional duties and tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors.

• A Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant experience in a related field.

• At least four years of experience in public or private third-party reimbursement, pharmaceutical sales, hospital or physician office settings, managed care, clinical support, or a similar field.

• A minimum of three years of experience serving as a Senior Reimbursement Specialist.

• Experience in rare diseases may be preferred.

• Familiarity with public, private, and federal reimbursement mechanisms.

• Advanced knowledge of the pharmaceutical or insurance industries.

• Strong business and financial acumen.

• Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.

• Capacity to lead a team and provide clear direction.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive topics with patients in a healthcare environment.

• Professional, courteous, and effective telephone etiquette.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Proven capability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and multitask efficiently.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Bilingual proficiency in French and English is a plus.

• Experience in IT project management, customer service, reimbursement programs, or the insurance sector is advantageous.
