Senior BESS Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and evaluate thorough engineering packages, which encompass Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), comprehensive electrical layouts, grounding designs, and cable routing maps.

• Specify and incorporate Power Conversion Systems (PCS), battery enclosures, MV/LV transformers, and switchgear.

• Execute and verify electrical engineering calculations, cable schedules, and sizing assessments for large-scale utility systems.

• Lead the integration of Balance-of-Plant (BOP) systems across various engineering disciplines.

• Ensure that designs adhere to utility interconnection requirements and comply with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards.

• Guide project teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing renewable energy assets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering.

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience specifically with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

• Proficient in power system modeling and engineering studies utilizing ETAP and SKM.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Prior professional experience with utility-scale BESS integrators is highly desirable.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Extensive operational knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC codes, as well as utility grid interconnection processes.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic, remote, cross-functional team environment.
