Senior Benefits Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Administer Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Schemes in alignment with legislation and Council policies.

• Process and manage all varieties of Benefit and Support Claims.

• Handle information from customers and external organizations, inputting it into processing systems.

• Utilize customer and agency data to make informed decisions on complex benefit cases.

• Recognize cases that require discretion.

• Detect suspected fraud and refer cases to the Single Fraud Investigation Service.

• Stay informed about legislation through ongoing training.

• Accurately assess claims to optimize subsidy.

• Assist customers through correspondence, phone calls, and in-person interactions.

• Direct vulnerable customers to appropriate resources.

• Oversee workloads and distribute tasks effectively.

• Conduct quality checks on work produced.

• Provide support to other team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with NEC (Northgate).

• Background in Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Assessments at a senior level.

• Legal authorization to work in the UK.

• Successful candidates will undergo BPSS pre-compliance screening.

• Identity verification is required.

• Employment history checks covering the previous 3–5 years, based on client requirements.

• Basic DBS check for unspent convictions.
