This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee and manage the company's benefits programs, which include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, voluntary benefits, and wellness initiatives.
• Assess the effectiveness of benefit plans and suggest enhancements.
• Prepare for annual benefits planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Create, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and operational controls related to benefits.
• Supervise benefits administration across enrollment, payroll, HRIS, retirement, and timekeeping systems.
• Ensure data integrity within benefits databases and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, Business Intelligence, and vendors to address system and data discrepancies.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. benefits regulations.
• Manage audits, regulatory filings, nondiscrimination testing, and compliance reporting for benefit plans.
• Keep track of legislative changes and suggest actions to ensure compliance.
• Foster relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, consultants, carriers, and third-party administrators.
• Conduct evaluations of vendors and engage in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and renewals.
• Act as the main escalation point for complex benefits-related issues.
• Develop and implement benefits communication strategies.
• Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, claims, and plan details.
• Lead programs for employee education and benefits training.
• Direct the annual open enrollment process, including planning, communication, and execution.
• Manage processes related to Evidence of Insurability, dependent verification, and benefits eligibility.
• Oversee initiatives and programs aimed at employee well-being.
• Prepare and analyze reports on benefits utilization, participation, cost, and compliance.
• Present findings and recommendations to the Vice President of Global Benefits.
• Track industry trends and benchmark benefits programs against market practices.
• Lead projects, process enhancements, and system implementations related to benefits.
• Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to team members in the benefits department.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.
• Comply with company policies and perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems.
• Strong vendor management and relationship-building expertise.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex benefits regulations and policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations, industry best practices, and processes for benefits administration.
• Understanding of compliance requirements, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, FMLA, USERRA, QMCSO, and SECURE 2.0.
