Senior BE Software Engineer – Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Propose and execute designs for new software components or enhancements to current software products.

• Collaborate with product designers and owners to transform high-level requirements into user stories and deployable features.

• Uphold high coding standards, meticulous attention to detail, and a systematic work approach.

• Develop maintainable, reusable, and clean code accompanied by unit testing.

• Promote coding standards within the team.

• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and adopt a pragmatic approach to solution design.

• Mentor and support colleagues through code reviews and brainstorming sessions.

• Take initiative in designing and executing solutions that yield positive results for both the team and the business.

• Contribute to Phorest’s main suite of Insights reports and Dashboards, covering areas such as Staff Performance, Stock, Client Retention, and Memberships.

• Assist in shaping a high-scale, distributed system by utilizing event-driven architecture and modern cloud technologies.

• Deliver work through feature flags and continuous delivery practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in object-oriented software design, particularly in Java.

• Knowledge and comprehension of JavaScript, including its fundamentals and recent advancements.

• Experience in working with and developing RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.

• Capability to evaluate trade-offs in discussions regarding backend technologies.

• Ability to inspire and motivate the team, enhance quality and productivity, while fostering technical innovation and excellence.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a systematic work approach.

• Practices focused on maintainability, reuse, clean code, and unit testing.

• Experience with event-driven architecture.

• Background in distributed systems.

• Proficiency in Docker.

• Experience with Serverless technologies.

• Familiarity with feature flags and continuous delivery methodologies.

• Experience with code reviews and brainstorming sessions.
