This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee and implement Selene’s compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory standards regarding the reconciliation and clearing of unresolved items for designated bank accounts.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, corporate finance policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Conduct reconciliation activities in alignment with organizational, investor, and regulatory requirements.
• Reconcile PI & TI custodial accounts along with Payment & Disbursement Clearing Accounts.
• Prepare intricate reconciliations and cash tests.
• Guarantee prompt reconciliation and resolution of aged items in designated bank accounts.
• Maintain internal controls to avert potential fraud and misallocation of resources.
• Develop departmental process flows while identifying and addressing process gaps.
• Serve as a liaison among departments, IT, and vendors regarding process challenges and system improvements.
• Facilitate and implement ad-hoc Bank Reconciliation reporting.
• Oversee the remediation of unresolved reconciling items.
• Create and maintain validation documentation for testing on process and system upgrades.
• Extract Bank Reconciliation KPI analytics utilizing MSP Passport and Monarch reporting tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external business partners to execute Bank Reconciliation duties.
• Support vendor and investor relationship management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in payment and disbursement clearing account reconciliation, P&I/T&I, and bank reconciliation within mortgage servicing.
• Capacity to multitask while working independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to excel in high-pressure, ambiguous situations with tight deadlines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities with the ability to synthesize information.
• Remarkable attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in data retrieval using internal system tools.
• Experience with Datawatch or Monarch.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with MSP Passport is a plus.
• Analytical skills for investigating and resolving reconciling-item discrepancies.
• Sound reasoning skills for problem-solving and account reconciliation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
• Capability to engage effectively with departments, management, and vendor representatives.
• Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
• Ability to assess, evaluate, and advocate for new technologies based on business requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to comprehend the needs of both technical and non-technical users.
