Senior Backend Software Engineer – Java, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, maintainable, and reliable backend services and APIs.

• Engage in technical decision-making by providing engineering insights and a long-term vision.

• Evolve and refactor backend components with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Ensure software quality through best practices, code reviews, and test automation.

• Contribute to the definition, maintenance, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery processes.

• Work with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Manage dependencies and artifacts through repositories like Artifactory.

• Collaborate with other teams to design and integrate distributed solutions.

• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement of services.

• Utilize modern development and testing support tools based on AI.

• Take responsibility for features from design through deployment in production.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum B2 level of English.

• Reside in Spain.

• At least 10 years of experience in the software industry.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience developing with Go, or strong Java experience combined with React experience.

• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs and backend services.

• Familiarity with CI/CD environments, preferably GitHub Actions.

• Experience in building and testing applications using Playwright, Vitest, React Testing Library, or equivalents.

• Knowledge of automated unit, integration, and/or end-to-end testing is valued.

• Understanding of software quality, testing strategies, and test automation is appreciated.

• Familiarity with integration, deployment, and continuous delivery practices is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Artifactory, feature flags, AWS, React, Java, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, DDD, Kafka, and AI-assisted development tools is considered a plus.
