Senior Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and quality assurance of essential backend features and integrations.

• Create REST API endpoints and make modifications to database schemas.

• Convert business logic into effective backend solutions.

• Conduct performance optimization and enhance security protocols.

• Independently manage projects, proactively identify issues, and facilitate workflow.

• Mentor and support less experienced or newly onboarded developers.

• Take ownership of critical components related to engineering infrastructure, service design, implementation, and maintenance processes.

• Facilitate technical discussions and assist in formulating solutions within constraints.

• Collaborate closely with engineering leads to plan and execute large, complex projects.

• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and quality of features.

• Improve code quality through code reviews, testing, technical presentations, and refactoring efforts.

• Participate in the recruitment of engineering candidates and influence hiring decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of commercial software development experience.

• More than 3 years of experience utilizing Python and its broader ecosystem as the primary daily environment.

• At least 3 years of experience in designing and expanding RESTful APIs.

• Minimum of 3 years working with a web framework such as Django (preferred), Flask, or Rails.

• Over 2 years of experience with relational SQL databases.

• At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting production issues.
