Senior Backend Engineer – Trading Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance the infrastructure supporting Ondo Finance's trading platform for real-time quoting and hedging of tokenized markets across both on-chain and traditional venues.

• Create and implement low-latency backend systems and APIs for quoting, hedging, and order execution.

• Collaborate with the trading team to establish interfaces and workflows linking pricing, execution, and market data services.

• Manage integrations with market data providers, exchanges, and on-chain venues, including handling feeds and executing orders.

• Build tools for reconciliation and data integrity to ensure consistency of positions, fills, and PnL across live trading states.

• Set and uphold backend engineering standards, best practices, and security protocols.

• Engage in code reviews and discussions regarding architecture.

• Work closely with trading and infrastructure teams in a high-ownership environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in backend software engineering (48 months minimum).

• Proficient programming skills in Go or Rust, with a willingness to work in both languages.

• Strong grasp of distributed systems and system design principles.

• Experience in developing services under real-time or latency-sensitive conditions.

• Familiarity with integrating cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), third-party services, and high-throughput, production-critical systems.

• Proven interest in Web3, DeFi, or trading systems demonstrated through professional experience or personal projects.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment characterized by high ambiguity and significant ownership of live production risk.

• Familiarity with market microstructure or order execution is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Nice to have: experience with market data providers and protocols (e.g., Databento, SIP/prop equity feeds, venue WebSocket APIs).

• Nice to have: prior experience with trading systems, execution infrastructure, or market data infrastructure at a trading firm, exchange, or broker.

• Nice to have: exposure to crypto venues and on-chain trading.
