Senior Backend Engineer, Pensions Team – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Python 3.11 with Django / DRF.

• Create scalable, dependable, and maintainable backend solutions.

• Engage in architectural discussions and make technical decisions relevant to your area of expertise.

• Collaborate with MySQL and Redis to enhance system performance and reliability.

• Develop and refine RESTful APIs for both internal and external integrations.

• Continuously enhance system performance, stability, and scalability.

• Work alongside Product, Compliance, and Business teams to introduce new features and refine existing processes.

• Investigate and resolve production issues, identify bottlenecks, and minimize technical debt.

• Uphold high standards of code quality, testing, and engineering practices.

• Utilize Git and CI/CD pipelines, including TeamCity and GitHub Actions.

• Contribute to enhancements in architecture, development processes, and internal tools.

• Participate in a collaborative engineering team with a significant influence on architecture, product decisions, and engineering culture.

• Complete the hiring process, which includes a talent introduction call, technical interview, gamified cognitive assessment, and conversation with the CTO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in backend development.

• Proficient in Python with a strong understanding of Django or similar frameworks.

• Experience in designing backend architectures and scalable systems.

• Solid grasp of relational databases, caching mechanisms, and system design.

• Practical experience in building and maintaining REST APIs.

• Ability to take ownership and make informed technical decisions autonomously.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of transforming requirements into practical solutions.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, clean code practices, testing, and monitoring.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in English (B2+) and fluent in Russian.

• Nice to have: experience in fintech, regulated industries, or internal B2B tools.

• Nice to have: familiarity with AWS and Docker.

• Nice to have: experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka.

• Nice to have: experience with pensions, investment products, or other financial products.

• Nice to have: contributions to open-source projects or personal technology initiatives.
