Senior Backend Engineer, NodeJS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend architecture for AI-driven automation systems

• Collaborate with AI engineers and product teams to integrate and scale LLM-based product features

• Implement and advance agent-based systems, including ReAct and supervisor-agent models

• Enhance RAG pipelines and context enrichment utilizing both structured and unstructured data

• Build resilient APIs for internal services and external integrations

• Ensure observability, monitoring, and alerting with tools like Grafana and OpenSearch

• Engage in code reviews and architecture discussions

• Maintain high-quality technical documentation for newly developed systems and APIs

• Construct production-grade systems that automate clinical and operational workflows within MEDvidi's telemedicine platform

• Collaborate with AI engineers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of commercial backend development experience with Node.js in product companies, preferably in the SaaS sector

• Profound understanding of complex backend systems from end to end

• Extensive experience in designing backend architectures and technical solutions

• Familiarity with system decomposition, scalability trade-offs, long-term maintenance, and technology selection

• Demonstrated success in building scalable, high-performance backend systems and robust APIs

• Knowledge of data flows, failure modes, and performance bottlenecks

• Practical experience in integrating LLMs into production systems

• Proven experience in designing and implementing multi-agent AI workflows in production

• Hands-on experience with contemporary AI frameworks

• Experience in designing and optimizing RAG pipelines, including embeddings, vector databases, retrieval strategies, ranking, and chunking

• Strong skills in prompt engineering, including structured outputs, schema validation, and iterative evaluation

• Understanding of LLM infrastructure in production settings, including tracing, observability, evaluation frameworks, safety mechanisms, guardrails, and performance/cost optimization

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL and AWS, including CDK, Lambda, API Gateway, and ElastiCache

• Good knowledge of observability and debugging using Grafana, OpenSearch, or similar tools

• Strong engineering culture that emphasizes testing, CI/CD, reliability, and technical ownership

• Product-oriented mindset

• Proactive enthusiasm for AI

• Fluent in Russian

• Proficient in English at B2 level or higher

• Experience with medical/healthcare AI or in regulated environments is a plus

• Familiarity with MCP in Node.js is an added advantage
