Senior Backend Engineer – Mobility

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and develop advanced event-driven microservices that facilitate clean and affordable transportation.

• Take ownership of solutions from conception through architecture decisions to production monitoring.

• Create innovative .NET solutions that promote digital and financial inclusion across Africa.

• Work collaboratively within an engineering team responsible for the entire software stack.

• Implement automated testing across all environments, including production settings.

• Establish observability and monitoring practices to enhance system reliability.

• Utilize infrastructure as code along with DevOps methodologies.

• Leverage AI coding tools like Claude Code to speed up the development process.

• Provide support for software throughout its lifecycle, from initial creation to production and eventual decommissioning.

• Play a key role in the technology behind Kenya’s e-mobility financing platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in C# .NET development.

• Familiar with event-driven systems, including Service Bus or similar messaging technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Experience with microservices architecture.

• Knowledge of Azure or other major cloud providers such as AWS or GCP.

• Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

• Skilled in testing and deployment processes.

• A mindset aligned with DevOps culture.

• Experience with AI coding tools, preferably Claude Code or similar.

• Comfortable managing the entire software stack, including supporting infrastructure, throughout the software lifecycle.

• Strong commitment to testing, observability, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices.
