This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Revise the fundamental CRM data architecture for leads, contacts, opportunities, and custom objects.
• Develop and execute migration strategies and rearchitecture initiatives without disrupting product availability.
• Create tools and endpoints that provide access to CRM data and actions for MCP-compatible agents.
• Empower agents to navigate, filter, and analyze customer CRM data effectively.
• Deliver AI-native CRM functionalities such as agentic enrichment, AI-driven data cleansing, and enhanced AI search capabilities.
• Ensure high-traffic CRM pathways remain fast, including lead searches, deal updates, pipeline reviews, and bulk operations.
• Collaborate across teams and projects as organizational priorities evolve.
• Utilize suitable technologies and contribute to Close’s AI-native engineering processes.
• Extensive engineering background.
• Proficiency in Python; knowledge of Go, Rust, or TypeScript is beneficial.
• Experience in designing systems that others can build upon.
• Proven track record in planning migrations and organizing rearchitectures into independently deployable segments.
• Understanding of data models, schemas, relationships, normalization, query design, and type systems.
• Experience with search technologies is a significant advantage, particularly with Elasticsearch, Lucene internals, query planning, relevance, and large-scale indexing.
• Substantial production experience delivering LLM-backed or agentic features to actual users.
• Familiarity with using AI tools in everyday development tasks.
• Experience troubleshooting incidents that involve latency considerations.
• Proven experience managing systems that significantly affect customers or handling an on-call pager.
• Builder-focused experience in delivering functional software.
• Eligibility to work legally in the US; visa requirements must be clarified.
• Capability to work remotely and travel internationally for week-long team offsites.
