Senior Backend Engineer, Compliance Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Tailor Reddit’s platforms to meet the changing demands of privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to create trustworthy and compliant experiences for millions of users.

• Shape technical and product strategy while helping to establish a new product domain.

• Manage product areas comprehensively, from technical design and coding to testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.

• Spearhead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives essential to Reddit’s business and platform integrity.

• Enhance engineering workflows, establish standards, and provide mentorship to engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend development experience across various backend stack domains, including databases, networking, and efficient computing.

• Proficiency in Go, Python, Postgres, Redis, Thrift, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

• Experience serving as a tech lead on projects with teams of 3 or more backend engineers.

• Capability to design and implement intricate distributed systems that function effectively under high loads.

• Self-motivated, innovative, and action-oriented mindset in fast-paced, uncertain environments.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote setting.

• Proficient in discussing complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Preferred experience in mentoring engineers, managing team processes, and leading cross-functional projects.
