This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.
• Design, develop, and maintain clean, efficient, and scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to create new product features from idea to deployment.
• Take ownership of critical components of the backend architecture and make decisions that enhance performance, reliability, and security.
• Produce thorough unit tests and participate in code reviews.
• Identify system enhancements and refactor existing legacy code.
• Provide mentorship and share engineering knowledge with team members.
• Utilize AI in daily operations and recognize opportunities for AI to enhance engineering practices.
• Tackle complex challenges within a high-load, distributed system.
• Construct and scale infrastructure capable of processing millions in donations.
• Collaborate across checkout systems, donor portals, and analytics pipelines.
• Over 7 years of backend development experience, ideally in a product-focused environment.
• Strong practical experience with Node.js and contemporary frameworks like Koa or NestJS.
• Profound knowledge of TypeScript, including advanced typing and module systems.
• Solid experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture utilizing Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Bull/Redis.
• Practical experience with ClickHouse or similar analytics databases, as well as Elasticsearch.
• Strong grasp of system design, clean architecture principles, and performance optimization.
• Capacity to work autonomously, take accountability, and finalize projects.
• Comfortable collaborating within a Russian-speaking team.
• Frequent utilization of AI in daily tasks and comprehension of its significance.
• Nice to have: experience in a remote-first or globally distributed team.
• Nice to have: familiarity with performance monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Nice to have: interest in technology for nonprofit organizations.
