Senior Backend Engineer – Asset Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage distributed C# and .NET microservices on Azure.

• Operate within a large-scale event-driven architecture.

• Take full ownership of services from concept through to implementation, deployment, ongoing operations, and refinement.

• Architect solutions that account for idempotency, retries, out-of-order events, and various failure scenarios.

• Leverage automated testing, establish SLOs, utilize alerting systems, ensure observability, and implement deployment safeguards.

• Engage in on-call duties and use incidents as learning opportunities to enhance platform resilience.

• Explore AI tools, agents, and workflows, sharing successful strategies with the team.

• Work collaboratively with a variety of distributed teams across the UK, Europe, and Africa.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of C# and .NET development.

• Experience with event-driven systems, including Azure Service Bus or comparable messaging technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, preferably on Azure and Kubernetes.

• Experience utilizing observability tools such as Grafana and Azure Application Insights.

• Comfortable integrating AI tools into daily engineering workflows.

• A mindset that embraces DevOps culture, including on-call responsibilities and ownership of production systems.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate within distributed teams across different time zones.
