Senior Back End Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the backend services that drive the Operator platform.

• Create scalable retrieval systems that link engineering knowledge across design reviews, notebooks, searches, and various product interfaces.

• Construct APIs and services that facilitate AI-powered functionalities throughout the platform.

• Enhance search quality, data pipelines, and the performance of knowledge retrieval.

• Broaden Operator's capabilities to include intelligent reporting, dashboards, and engineering insights.

• Architect systems that organize company knowledge across different business units, engineering disciplines, and manufacturing processes.

• Work collaboratively with AI, Product, Design, and Engineering teams to provide customer-facing solutions.

• Boost the reliability, observability, and performance of backend infrastructure.

• Guide teammates through architecture discussions, code evaluations, and provide technical leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years in developing production backend software.

• Extensive experience with Python and contemporary backend development practices.

• Proven experience in building APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.

• Deep understanding of databases, system architecture, and scalable backend design principles.

• Familiarity with both structured and unstructured data.

• Ability to make architectural decisions in dynamic product environments.

• Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
