Senior Azure IaC Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain Azure cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Architect and execute automated deployment pipelines that integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks with CI/CD platforms like Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Create and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards across Azure ecosystems.

• Lead complex cloud infrastructure projects focused on automation, monitoring, resilience, and cost efficiency.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams to assess technical needs and devise enterprise-aligned solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve advanced Azure infrastructure challenges related to networking, identity, compute, storage, and Kubernetes (AKS).

• Mentor junior and mid-level cloud engineers, providing technical guidance on IaC and cloud modernization initiatives.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for deployments, architectures, patterns, and operational workflows.

• Remain updated on advancements in the Azure platform and advocate for tools and methodologies that enhance reliability, performance, and engineering effectiveness.

• Assist in the accreditation and implementation of a new digital evidence platform for a Federal Government client.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.

• Five (5) years of practical experience in designing and managing cloud infrastructure, particularly in Microsoft Azure.

• Public Trust clearance.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Advanced proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.

• Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and automated deployment processes.

• In-depth knowledge of Azure services encompassing networking, security, compute, storage, and containers (AKS).

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.

• Experience in implementing cloud governance frameworks, identity architectures (Azure AD), RBAC, policies, and security standards.

• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to analyze intricate distributed systems.

• Strong communication skills and comfort in collaborating with diverse technical teams.

• Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-400, or equivalent) are preferred.

• Experience with platform engineering and creating reusable infrastructure modules is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies is preferred.

• Experience in Agile working environments is preferred.
