Senior Automation Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement system-level testing procedures within an Agile framework.

• Ensure that systems fulfill functional, performance, and latency specifications.

• Construct, scale, and sustain a test automation framework utilizing Playwright and Cucumber for web applications and APIs.

• Create, develop, and carry out complex automated software testing plans.

• Examine requirements and produce artifacts tables and testing methodologies for automated test-script creation.

• Review testing documentation, establish testing standards, define testing criteria, analyze test outcomes, and present findings to developers and end users.

• Develop and implement unit, process, functional, system integration, and acceptance test scenarios, scripts, and procedures.

• Assess test bases and enhance requirements for testability, clarity, and accuracy.

• Create and manage databases of known test defects.

• Design both positive and negative test cases that are traceable to system requirements.

• Schedule tests and strategize in alignment with project timelines and delivery schedules.

• Engage in product design reviews, offering insight on requirements, designs, schedules, and potential issues.

• Assist in formulating software test plans that encompass strategy, approach, process, schedule, pass/fail criteria, test environment architecture, and test lab resources.

• Configure and maintain infrastructure servers and testing environments from the ground up.

• Deploy, manage, and set up automated test suites on staging servers or distributed grid nodes.

• Ensure stable headless execution and dependable artifact/report collection.

• Analyze risk identifiers and document software defect diagnostics along with proposed resolutions.

• Support test readiness evaluations and formal system verification of requirements.

• Collaborate with software developers, engineers, business analysts, and requirements personnel on static analysis and dynamic testing.

• Utilize Atlassian tool suites including JIRA and Zephyr.

• Contribute to a U.S. Navy program by aiding in the development of secure, scalable, next-generation solutions and technical strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field of IT.

• Over 7 years of professional experience in test engineering.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

• Active Secret security clearance is preferred.

• U.S. Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria for this type of security clearance.

• Must reside within the continental United States.

• Experience in developing software test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Proficient in automation testing.

• Familiarity with Selenium, MS Playwright, Cucumber, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, or other automation testing frameworks/tools.

• Experience with LoadRunner and other manual testing tools.

• Skilled in designing and executing comprehensive automation frameworks using Playwright combined with Cucumber.

• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript with Selenium WebDriver in data-driven and/or behavior-driven frameworks.

• Background in functional and regression testing procedures.

• Experience in designing, writing, testing, and documenting efficient testing solutions.

• Competence in User Interface Acceptance Testing, backend testing, and software testing.

• Experience in API Testing using Postman and Rest-Assured or similar tools.

• Knowledge in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Linux infrastructure servers or cloud instances for standalone testing environments.

• Experience with Linux and Bash scripting, Java and JavaScript frameworks, HTML5/CSS3, AngularJS, jQuery, D3, RESTful APIs/JSON, and SQL is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of networking, permissions, and server configurations.

• Experience in a DevOps environment is preferred.

• Proven experience with Continuous Integration utilizing Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Git/GitHub/GitBash/Stash/Bitbucket.

• Familiarity with JMeter and LoadRunner is a bonus.

• Ability to evaluate software readiness and establish pass/fail criteria.

• Capability to develop test strategies, create test schedules, and identify testing risks.

• Proficient in capturing test data, analyzing test results, and communicating findings and deficiencies.

• Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in quality assurance testing automation.

• Experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as it pertains to software testing.

• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
