This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan, +1 more country.
• Lead the comprehensive QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.
• Assess and advocate for testing methodologies and frameworks tailored for distributed systems.
• Spearhead risk analysis and test planning for extensive, multi-cloud registries, infrastructure, and container orchestration.
• Design test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components.
• Create intricate test scenarios simulating production-like workloads, resource scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters.
• Develop scalable test automation that integrates with CI/CD systems like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Utilize Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to establish automation coverage for system health, failover behavior, and network resilience.
• Foster repeatable, extensible, and dependable infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Guide QA engineers and developers in risk-based testing, chaos engineering, performance testing, and load testing.
• Act as the QA authority during design reviews, production readiness evaluations, and incident retrospectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to develop monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies.
• Set up quality gates, release readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback loops.
• Incorporate performance, security, and chaos testing into the development lifecycle.
• Advocate for quality across teams and impact architectural decisions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles.
• At least 4 years dedicated to Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in developing and scaling test strategies within enterprise-grade environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes, and network policies.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Pytest, and Bash.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes security, and performance benchmarking tools like K6.
• Solid understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD.
• Moderate to advanced knowledge of Linux systems.
• Proficient in Bash scripting and debugging, systemd/logs, networking/firewalling/routing, certificate/PKI management, Docker/containerd, kubectl, Helm with OCI registries, and GitOps/Flux.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and architectural thinking.
• Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members.
• Preferred: Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects.
• Preferred: Experience implementing chaos engineering in Kubernetes environments.
• Preferred: CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certifications.
