This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan.
• Contribute to the comprehensive QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.
• Assess and advocate for testing methodologies and frameworks tailored for distributed systems.
• Take the lead in risk assessment and test planning for multi-cloud registries, infrastructure, and container orchestration.
• Design test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components within multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud settings.
• Manage intricate test scenarios that replicate production workloads, resource scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters.
• Create scalable and maintainable test automation systems integrated with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Utilize Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to enhance automation coverage for system health, failover behavior, and network resilience.
• Advocate for repeatable, extensible, and dependable infrastructure-as-code solutions for testing infrastructure.
• Mentor QA engineers and developers in areas such as risk-based testing, chaos engineering, performance testing, and load testing.
• Act as the QA authority during design reviews, production readiness evaluations, and incident retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps engineers to optimize monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for CI/CD test automation.
• Set quality gates, release readiness metrics, and implement data-driven feedback loops.
• Incorporate performance, security, and chaos testing into the software development lifecycle.
• Champion a culture of quality and influence architectural decisions with testing considerations in mind.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles.
• More than 4 years of experience focused on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
• Proven leadership skills in developing and scaling testing strategies in enterprise-grade environments.
• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd, and network policies.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Pytest, Bash, among others.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes security, RBAC, secrets management, and performance benchmarking tools like K6.
• Solid foundational knowledge in AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD processes.
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Linux systems.
• Skills in Bash scripting and debugging, systemd/logs, networking, firewall management, routing, certificate/PKI management, Docker/containerd, kubectl/Helm with OCI registries, and GitOps/Flux.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and architectural insight.
• Experience in influencing cross-functional teams and engaging with senior leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for both technical and executive-level audiences.
• Mentor and coach one or more junior team members.
• Preferred: Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling initiatives.
• Preferred: Experience in implementing chaos engineering within Kubernetes environments.
• Preferred: CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certifications.
