This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, product engineering, maintenance, quality, procurement, IT, OT, EHS, and business leadership.
β’ Discover, develop, implement, and enhance advanced manufacturing automation solutions throughout the global supply chain.
β’ Act as a technical leader specializing in machining and fabrication processes.
β’ Establish automation standards, assess emerging technologies, disseminate best practices, and promote repeatable solutions.
β’ Oversee and assist automation systems from initial development and justification to design, execution, and optimization.
β’ Assess automation prospects and formulate technical concepts and business justifications.
β’ Aid in capital project execution and standardize effective solutions across manufacturing facilities.
β’ Lead automation initiatives from concept to production launch.
β’ Create technical concepts, capital estimates, and ROI business justifications.
β’ Function as the enterprise technical capability owner for welding and joining automation.
β’ Establish automation standards, specifications, and preferred technologies.
β’ Guide or assist in vendor selection, RFQs, design evaluations, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
β’ Diagnose and enhance existing automation systems.
β’ Recognize and replicate successful solutions across various sites.
β’ Contribute to the Automation & Advanced Manufacturing roadmap and technology strategy.
β’ Evaluate robotics, vision, simulation, and AI-driven manufacturing technologies.
β’ Mentor site engineering personnel and provide technical guidance.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Automation/Controls, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
β’ Robust background in welding automation, robotic welding, or automated machining and fabrication processes.
β’ Over 7 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing engineering, robotics, controls, or advanced manufacturing.
β’ Proven leadership in significant automation and capital projects.
β’ Strong comprehension of robotics, controls, safety, machine integration, and manufacturing processes.
β’ Experience in developing automation concepts, specifications, scopes, and business cases.
β’ Skills in project leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
β’ Willingness to travel as necessary to support enterprise manufacturing locations.
β’ Familiarity with robotic welding and automated joining systems.
β’ Experience with industrial robots, including brands like FANUC, ABB, KUKA, and Yaskawa/Motoman.
β’ Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, and controls integration.
β’ Proficient with machine vision and inspection systems.
β’ Certified welding experience.
β’ Familiarity with automated material handling systems.
β’ Experience with MES, SCADA, OEE, and data collection systems.
β’ Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, and production launch activities.
