QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain comprehensive UI automation for an Angular application utilizing Cypress.

• Create and uphold automated API and contract tests for Spring Boot REST services and SQS/SNS event flows.

• Incorporate automated testing suites into CI/CD pipelines.

• Convert Jira acceptance criteria and Figma designs into structured test plans and scenarios.

• Conduct exploratory, regression, and functional testing across QA and UAT environments.

• Identify, document, and convey defects with detailed reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, and supporting evidence.

• Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders on defect triage and resolution efforts.

• Evaluate automation coverage and enhance test reliability, speed, and overall effectiveness.

• Utilize AI tools to generate test cases, scaffold automation, analyze failures, and broaden coverage while validating outcomes.

• Enhance QA processes, testing standards, and overall release quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience focused on test automation.

• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Practical experience with Cypress or Playwright.

• Familiarity with API testing using tools such as REST Assured, Postman/Newman, Karate, or similar.

• Comfortable reading and comprehending Java/Spring Boot code.

• Experienced in testing REST APIs and event-driven architectures, particularly with SQS/SNS.

• Knowledge of MongoDB queries for the setup, validation, and verification of test data.

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.

• Hands-on experience utilizing AI assistants within a software testing process.

• Proficient in English.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a risk-based testing approach.

• High level of attention to detail.

• Capability to work autonomously and take responsibility for release quality.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• A curious and proactive mindset towards enhancing testing practices, tools, and automation coverage.

• Comfortable questioning assumptions and clarifying vague requirements or acceptance criteria.

• Practical understanding of what should be automated as opposed to tested through exploration.
