Senior Automation & Control Systems Engineer – Mission Critical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to design innovative PLC-based control systems, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and various industrial control system platforms.

• Create specifications and design documents for the procurement and implementation of software, instrumentation, and control system platforms.

• Enhance knowledge in Automation/Control Systems Engineering through mentoring, technical sessions in a classroom setting, and hands-on training in the Automation Lab.

• Advance your career through peer learning opportunities, process systems, and participation in Communities of Practice.

• Offer I&C Field Engineering support during the construction phase and acceptance testing.

• Diagnose and propose solutions for electrical and control system hardware and software issues.

• Execute PLC/HMI programming tasks, conduct software verification and validation, and maintain documentation.

• Travel to client offices and project locations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; individuals with dual citizenship involving a country other than the U.S. are not eligible.

• Must be able to secure U.S. Government security clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; a Master's degree is preferred.

• Over 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in instrumentation and controls or automation and control systems engineering.

• Experience in designing, programming, documenting, and/or testing automated machinery or processes in industrial settings.

• Familiarity with industrial communication design; preference for Ethernet IP, with knowledge of Modbus and Profibus being advantageous.

• Proficient in producing P&IDs, Control System Narratives, I/O Lists, Cause and Effect or Logic Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Factory Acceptance Test Procedures, and software documentation, including O&M manuals.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with programming Rockwell RSLogix 5000 and RSView is a plus, though not required.

• Background in Fabrication, Construction, and Instrumentation & Control System Testing is valued but not essential.
