This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +2 more countries.
β’ Assist in the development and ongoing enhancement of embedded software components for cutting-edge audio/video streaming products.
β’ Develop, improve, and troubleshoot multimedia middleware and GStreamer-based media pipelines for embedded Linux and Android platforms.
β’ Focus on implementing new features, enhancing performance, improving stability, testing, and resolving bugs across multi-platform streaming solutions.
β’ Integrate media components, third-party applications, user-space services, and system-level software modules into the product framework.
β’ Collaborate with firmware, hardware, platform, and application engineering teams to clarify requirements, align technical solutions, and facilitate hardware/software integration.
β’ Analyze and address complex media issues related to latency, synchronization, playback stability, streaming quality, and overall system performance.
β’ Engage in technical design discussions and create documentation for architecture, implementation details, and significant engineering decisions.
β’ Generate and support validation and testing activities to ensure the reliability of firmware and high-quality products.
β’ Participate in code reviews and provide technical insights to fellow engineers.
β’ Uphold product, compliance, and reliability standards throughout the project lifecycle.
β’ Over 8 years of software development experience in multimedia, embedded, firmware, or system-level environments.
β’ Extensive hands-on experience with GStreamer at the development level, including building, debugging, and optimizing audio/video media pipelines.
β’ Proficient programming skills in C++ or Java for embedded, system-level, or multimedia applications.
β’ Familiarity with Embedded Linux and/or Embedded Android platforms.
β’ Experience with Video4Linux / V4L2.
β’ Strong knowledge of audio and video streaming technologies and protocols, such as RTP and RTSP.
β’ Experience with video and audio codecs including H.264, H.265, VP9, or similar.
β’ Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
β’ Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across software layers, encompassing middleware, operating system, and hardware interactions.
β’ Proficient in version control systems such as Git.
β’ Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
β’ Experience in developing or debugging Android applications and services.
β’ Background in Android framework customization or platform-level Android development.
β’ Familiarity with Embedded Android / Android BSP / AOSP.
β’ Knowledge of VAAPI, FFmpeg, OpenMAX, OpenGL, Android Audio, or SurfaceFlinger.
β’ Experience with WebRTC.
β’ Experience in camera integration or customization of camera subsystems.
β’ Understanding of hardware-accelerated media pipelines.
β’ Scripting experience with Bash or Python.
β’ Experience in documenting firmware architecture or design specifications.
β’ Experience in conducting code reviews or providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
β’ Long-term project engagement.
