This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Take charge of financial operations for two Australian companies, which include an e-commerce distribution firm and a property assets entity.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping and general ledgers, encompassing transaction coding, journals, accruals, prepayments, inter-company entries, and director or shareholder transactions.
• Conduct daily reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, loans, finance accounts, and petty cash, rectifying discrepancies with a thorough audit trail.
• Manage accounts payable, including supplier invoices, matching purchase orders with goods received, supplier reconciliations, payment schedules, and 30-day credit accounts.
• Handle accounts receivable duties such as invoicing, payment allocation, reconciliations, managing aged receivables, overdue follow-ups, and issuing stop-supply notifications.
• Process fortnightly payroll for Australian employees, which includes wages, deductions, PAYG withholding, leave accruals, superannuation, STP reporting, year-end requirements, and general-ledger reconciliation.
• Prepare GST reconciliations, BAS workpapers, and PAYG withholding information for review and lodgement by external accountants or tax agents.
• Monitor inventory including stock movement, costs, landed costs, minimum and maximum stock levels, and manage slow-moving or excess inventory using MYOB EXO and Shopify.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, maintain supplier pricing, match orders with warehouse receipts and invoices, and resolve stock or pricing discrepancies.
• Reconcile sales, payments, refunds, fees, and inventory for Shopify.
• Develop monthly and annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts, revenue and expense forecasts, inventory purchasing, payroll, tax, and BAS projections.
• Complete month-end reconciliations and prepare financial, inventory, purchasing, and budget-versus-actual reports with variance analysis.
• Identify risks related to cash-flow, expenditure, inventory, and financial control, and articulate necessary management actions.
• Prepare banking payment templates for director approval, ensuring confidentiality, financial integrity, and compliance with approval controls.
• Perform additional duties as required at the position level.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5-6 years' experience in Australian bookkeeping supporting businesses in Australia is required.
• Essential qualifications or certifications in Australian bookkeeping or accounting.
• Proficiency in MYOB EXO is crucial, with the ability to operate independently without extensive system training.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations, budget models, and managing large datasets are necessary.
• Strong practical understanding of Australian accounting practices, including GST, BAS, PAYG, payroll, superannuation, and STP requirements is essential.
• Proven experience in managing Australian accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, supplier accounts, and 30-day credit terms is vital.
• Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, purchasing, processing purchase orders, handling goods received, and supplier management is essential.
• Experience in preparing budgets, cash-flow forecasts, budget-versus-actual analyses, and monthly management reports is required.
• Experience with Xero is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Shopify and e-commerce sales, including payments, refunds, fees, and inventory reconciliation is highly regarded.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage directly with management, suppliers, and internal teams are essential.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, financial integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information are critical.
• Capability to work independently across multiple companies, manage competing priorities, and adhere to Australian deadlines is essential.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and emerging financial risks, and to recommend practical corrective actions is required.
• Successful completion of a practical assessment covering MYOB EXO, reconciliations, GST and BAS, payroll, inventory, purchasing, Excel, budgeting, and forecasting is mandatory.
• Work from home.
• Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST/AEDT (adjustments will be made for daylight saving time).
