Accounting Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Accurately input Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions into the accounting software.

• Process invoices, vendor bills, customer payments, and credit memos efficiently.

• Assist in matching invoices and providing necessary supporting documentation.

• Maintain well-organized electronic accounting records and filing systems.

• Update spreadsheets and reconcile transaction listings with the appropriate supporting documents.

• Aid in basic bank and account reconciliations by preparing the necessary supporting information.

• Review transactions for completeness, flagging any missing or inconsistent information.

• Support month-end processes by preparing schedules and collecting required documentation.

• Communicate with U.S. team members in English and engage with Mexican stakeholders in Spanish regarding routine accounting issues.

• Adhere to established accounting procedures, ensuring accuracy while operating within the client's remote desktop environment.

• Execute additional administrative and data entry tasks to assist the finance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 - 5 years of experience in an accounting assistant, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or accounting data entry position.

• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• Proven experience entering accounting transactions with meticulous attention to detail.

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes.

• Basic understanding of accounting principles.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel (including sorting, filtering, formulas, and data organization).

• Strong organizational skills with the capability to work accurately with large data volumes.

• Experience supporting a U.S.-based accounting or finance team.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP or another accounting/ERP system is a plus.

• Experience using remote desktop software is advantageous.

• A dual-monitor home office setup is preferable.

• Previous experience as a long-term remote contractor is a plus.
