Senior Attorney – Contracts and Intellectual Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of drafts provided by suppliers and business partners, pinpointing potential vulnerabilities and engaging in negotiations to reduce legal risks.

• Create and organize a variety of contracts, amendments, termination agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other documents pertinent to the company's daily operations.

• Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and practical legal advice to aid the strategic decisions made by the client's internal departments.

• Engage in meetings with business units, suppliers, and partners, identifying contingencies and coordinating projects.

• Ensure that contractual documents are in line with the client’s internal policies, governance standards, and compliance obligations.

• Act as a liaison between the client's daily corporate activities and the firm's supplemental technical support.

• Provide legal evaluations of product launches, marketing initiatives, and innovation projects, including freedom-to-operate analyses, prior-art investigations, and infringement risk evaluations.

• Draft and negotiate technology transfer agreements, trademark and patent licenses, copyright assignments, software development contracts, NDAs, and co-branding agreements.

• Oversee the portfolio of intangible assets and track filings, oppositions, submissions, appeals, and invalidity proceedings before the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and a valid Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) license.

• Preferred: postgraduate qualification in Contract Law.

• Experience in contracts and legal advisory roles.

• Background in law firms focusing on contracts practice.
