This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Assist in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with program requirements and company protocols.
• Examine purchase requisitions for completeness, accuracy, funding, approvals, and adherence to processes.
• Prepare and distribute requests for quotes, bid packages, and standard solicitation documents.
• Acquire supplier quotations and assess pricing, delivery, lead times, and commercial considerations.
• Manage and execute purchase orders, including acknowledgments, status updates, modifications, cancellations, and closeouts.
• Collaborate with suppliers to address purchase order requirements, delivery timelines, documentation, and follow-ups.
• Oversee open purchase orders and supplier commitments.
• Aid in resolving routine issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, quantity, receiving, invoicing, and documentation.
• Maintain procurement files, records, and system data to ensure accuracy and readiness for audits.
• Guarantee compliance with company policies, procedures, internal controls, and customer specifications.
• Engage with planning, operations, engineering, quality, finance, and supply chain stakeholders.
• Assist with tracking and reporting on procurement status and order activities.
• Support supplier documentation, setup, and onboarding processes.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Escalate non-routine issues, exceptions, and risks as necessary.
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant procurement experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of relevant procurement experience, or alternatively, at least 6 years of relevant procurement experience without a degree.
• Preferred experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of procurement documentation, purchase order terms and conditions, and supplier communication processes.
• Experience in direct material, indirect procurement, or services procurement activities.
• Familiarity with supplier delivery tracking, order follow-up, and issue resolution.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Basic understanding of price comparison, quotation evaluation, and commercial assessment practices.
• Experience aiding in audit readiness, file management, or internal control requirements.
• Solid knowledge of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or related business operations.
• Experience in handling purchase order processing, procurement administration, or transactional purchasing activities.
• Familiarity with supplier quotations, purchasing documentation, and procurement records.
• Experience utilizing ERP systems or similar business tools.
• Ability to implement established procedures, practices, and policies.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities with precision and timeliness.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to identify and resolve routine issues using sound judgment.
