Senior Associate, Higher Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist project directors and leadership teams in higher education initiatives

• Address challenges and effectively deliver outcomes on essential tasks and milestones

• Generate insights related to state policy innovation and its implementation

• Offer communications and analytical support to project leadership teams

• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative client analysis through data evaluation, interviews, surveys, focus groups, and desk research

• Perform policy analysis and design technical assistance pertaining to postsecondary education and workforce issues

• Promote responsible AI applications within the project team

• Deliver data analysis, visualization, and insights with minimal supervision

• Coordinate in-state and cross-state gatherings of policymakers and practitioners

• Write concept papers and proposals utilizing AI to expedite research and writing processes

• Aid in grant/award administration and reporting

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in supporting complex, multi-year strategic initiatives across various sectors, and/or managing less complex, shorter-term projects

• Advanced collaborative skills with the capability to navigate high-stakes partner dynamics

• Operational awareness of political challenges in state and regional education and workforce solutions

• Proven track record in supporting multi-sector projects aimed at achieving high economic returns

• Familiarity with higher education, workforce development, and economic systems

• Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities

• Proficiency in leveraging emerging technologies such as AI

• At least five years of professional experience in a state education agency, intermediary organization, postsecondary institution, school district, workforce or economic development agency, or national nonprofit organization

• Master’s degree in public policy, education policy, or related fields, or equivalent knowledge and experience

• Willingness to travel as necessary, estimated at around 25%
