This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborate with Managers and Directors on Economic Damages and Valuations projects.
• Assist with family law and various litigation cases.
• Work closely with testifying experts and management.
• Create equitable distribution charts up to the final column.
• Review and reconcile cash transactions from the Date of Filing to the present for banking, brokerage, and related accounts.
• Conduct analyses of retirement plans for defined contribution schemes, including 401(k) and IRA accounts.
• Analyze the marital portions of pensions and defined benefit plans.
• Execute income analyses for W-2 employees.
• Carry out general ledger addbacks.
• Assist with financial affidavits as instructed.
• Prepare document request lists, responses to RFPs, and essential disclosures.
• Identify standard work to be completed based on the type of case.
• Coordinate and review discovery utilizing CaseMap, including assessments of relevance.
• Compile deposition and trial exhibits and prepare binders.
• Draft standard interrogatories.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents as directed.
• Review and refine data entry and schedules created by junior staff.
• Conduct needs analyses with the appropriate adjustments for support.
• Aid in preparation for hearings, depositions, mediation, and trials.
• Train and mentor junior staff as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of pertinent experience in family law, forensic accounting, litigation support, valuation, auditing, or financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical and organizational capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and general ledger information.
• Prior experience in forensic accounting or family law settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
• Knowledge of CaseMap or similar litigation support software is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting expert testimony or litigation matters is desirable.
• Capable of performing detailed financial analyses and reviewing extensive documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Skilled at managing deadlines and adjusting priorities as required.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented atmosphere.
• Willingness to spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer.
