This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial statements, journal entries, and bank reconciliations for a portfolio consisting of 4 to 6 commercial properties.
• Oversee accounts payable by assessing invoice coding, confirming approvals, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and client mandates.
• Act as the main accounting resource for on-site property teams.
• Address procedural inquiries and resolve accounting-related issues.
• Manage cash operations, which include loan servicing, disbursement processing, and external reporting.
• Supervise internal and external audit processes along with necessary documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and handle data entry for accounting systems.
• Conduct year-end reconciliations, compute adjustments, and ensure timely and precise billing in accordance with lease stipulations.
• Collaborate with property management teams both locally and throughout the organization.
• Oversee the assigned property portfolio and maintain client relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, particularly in real estate accounting.
• Familiarity with real estate accounting software such as MRI or Yardi (or similar CMMS platforms).
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, financial modeling, and report generation.
• Capability to multitask, perform under pressure, and prioritize tasks to meet client deadlines.
• Client-oriented with the ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Comfort in managing ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
