This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Enhance the landscape of accounting systems and spearhead automation throughout the Order-to-Cash workflow.
• Automate settlements for marketplaces and refine the posting of transactions.
• Organize international regulatory reporting for OSS, VAT returns, and EC Sales Lists, transitioning it to a standardized, tool-supported procedure.
• Improve cash application and bank reconciliation for payment service providers such as PayPal, Stripe, and Amazon Payments.
• Prepare processes for new countries and sales channels.
• Establish DSO and revenue reporting to evaluate A/R performance.
• Serve as the escalation contact for disputed invoices, marketplace clarification issues, and compliance edge cases.
• Ensure the accuracy of postings and filings through spot checks and standardized practices.
• Share process expertise with the team and implement strong backup arrangements.
• Oversee and take responsibility for the A/R component of the month-end close.
• Methodically calculate and document month-end accruals.
• Offer subject-matter expertise when integrating new sales channels or entering new markets.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting, particularly in Accounts Receivable (A/R) or receivables management.
• Industry experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, or multichannel environments, including familiarity with Amazon, Zalando, fee structures, settlements, chargebacks, and returns.
• Strong understanding of international VAT reporting, including OSS, VAT returns, and EC Sales Lists (ESL).
• Proficient in DATEV, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Experience with e-commerce accounting tools, such as Shopify, WooCommerce integrations, or marketplace APIs, is advantageous.
• Demonstrated success in developing and automating financial processes.
• Capability to provide subject-matter leadership, disseminate knowledge, ensure quality, and manage escalations with confidence.
• Proficient in German at C1 level.
• Good command of English.
