Senior Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of workstream and engagement outcomes by defining success metrics and assessing business impact.

• Balance considerations of technical debt, speed, and scalability effectively.

• Design end-to-end AI and GenAI systems throughout their lifecycle.

• Make informed technical trade-offs and provide justifications for decisions.

• Assess model performance with a focus that goes beyond basic accuracy.

• Communicate AI concepts, trade-offs, and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical clients.

• Lead code reviews and facilitate constructive resolutions to technical disagreements.

• Mentor and guide engineers in their professional development.

• Contribute reusable components, accelerators, and best practices to enhance team efficiency.

• Continuously seek improvements in team delivery methods.

• Serve as a trusted technical contact for clients.

• Manage delivery timelines and mitigate technical risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in delivering AI models, systems, and products to production within a consultancy or AI-centric product organization.

• Proficient programming abilities, particularly in Python and related technologies.

• Knowledge of system design and testing methodologies.

• Experience with integrating models/LLMs and deploying them on cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Databricks.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices.

• Capability to take charge of delivery, manage stakeholder expectations, and confidently guide fellow engineers.

• Desirable: Expertise in a specific area such as GenAI/ML (RAG, agentic workflows), Data Science, Data Engineering, Product/Full-Stack development, or Platform/MLOps.

• Desirable: AWS and/or Databricks certifications.

• Desirable: Experience with responsible AI practices and production monitoring.
